Its name derives from a wild flower common in the surrounding fields - Silene Vulgaris. Hand harvested and fermented in stainless steel tanks, its aged for about a year, bottled and rested for a further six months.
Ruby red in colour, tending towards garnet with aging, it has a delicate aroma of ripe fruit. The flavour is soft and medium-bodied, pairing exceptionally well with traditional regional dishes such as pasta.
